Covid Policy
BGD is committed to hosting the safest possible event for attendees in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and will follow all safety measures based on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization as well as Tennessee State Department of Health and Knoxville County.
Keeping with local trends, CDC and local health department guidance and Awaken Coffee's current policy, we will encourage but not require Masks, Hand Sanitizer, and Social Distancing.
Knoxville is a LOW level ranking according to CDC as of April 26th 2022. This means that masks are not required in the area. The CDC also recommends individuals stay up to date on their vaccines. Proof of vaccination or proof of negative test within the last 72hrs are not required, but we do support an honor system that those who feel they are compromised or could be compromised by Covid-19 or any sickness, to please refrain from attending.
At any time when sitting down at a table to play a game, if any person joining the game asks for others to please wear a mask, use hand sanitizer before you begin playing, and/or request some space between everyone at your table, please comply. We are all here to enjoy games in a comfortable setting. Thank you for your understanding and support!
FAQ
What happens if I lose my mask?
BGD will have plenty of free masks for you at the BGD checkout table.
What about sanitizer?
We will have hand sanitizer at every BGD round table and game library. We will be taking donations to help cover the costs, but it’s not required.
How will social distancing work?
We have always looked to accessibility when planning BGD, allowing spacing between tables. It won’t affect that too much in the main space, as we already do plenty of social distancing as it is. We do plan on removing and/or moving content around to make you feel safer in the spaces. This will also affect how game library checkout works, so just look for the signs when you show up for the convention.
